Nelia seemed to be settling in to her new surroundings, though she did appear to be tuckered out. Her yawn only confirmed this. Commenting on not having slept in a bed in a while brought another smile to Nikita’s face, as he knew she was therefore in for a treat. He was unable, however, to suppress a laugh when she mentioned rocks and comfortable in the same sentence.

“Oh, trust me,” he stated, “you will notice the difference between this bed and mere rocks.” Chuckling, he then continued, “In fact, you may like it so much, you might not want to wake up or leave its cozy confines.”

Although a bit puzzled at her questions of him being here upon her awakening, Nikita still felt it necessary to be as reassuring as possible. “Yes, of course I will still be here,” he responded. “I will be right downstairs. And if you do not find me there, then I shall be in the basement. And no, no disappearing acts from me.”

He smiled at her, and said, “Sleep well, Nelia.” Turning to leave so she could enjoy her slumber, he was sure to close the door behind him.

    - i waited till you where out watching you and smiling softly i lay down and curl up into a ball in the bed and bury myself under the blankets as i try my best to sleep. i slept fairly well until i had begun to get a nightmare. even from downstairs you could hear me whimpering and whining . that plus i filled the entire room with smoke as i turned into a fox and buried myself even deeper in the blankets burying myself as if in my sleep the blankets could protect me-

As a wolf, Nikita possessed superior hearing. Not much of that hearing ability was lost while in human form. Which is why he was somewhat alarmed when he heard the unmistakable sound of whimpering. Humans do not whimper like that, he thought, so that could only mean Nelia must have shifted while sleeping. Hustling up the stairs, he was greeted with a little bit of smoke lingering in the hallway. Must have seeped out under the door, he thought.

Not bothering to knock before entering, as he was not expecting a response of the human kind, he slowly opened the door. Although he wished to rush into the room in case she was in trouble or some kind of discomfort, he had no idea what form she had changed into. The last thing he needed was to see a lion or tiger comfortably lounging on the bed.

Nikita need not have worried. There was no animal on the bed, but he saw a distinct lump buried under the covers. It was medium-sized, so that ruled out the kitten or puppy. Relieved, Nikita realized that also eliminated the lion and tiger from contention. Approaching the bed, he stopped a few feet short, and then asked a touch over a whisper, “Nelia?”

A soft whimper sound was heard under the blanket. An some squirming is seen under the blanket then the limb was visibly shaking hard. Nelia's ears twitched insanely hard she recognized his Is voice in her sleep the whimpers sounded more beggy then fearful as before. And the small mound slowly after she stop shaking seems to squirm closer to you. -

Nelia’s soft whimpering was heart-wrenching for Nikita to listen to. With her in an animal form and thus unable to speak to him, he wondered if there was anything he could do to help. He did notice, however, how the lump that was her under the covers appeared to be making an effort to get closer to him.

Stepping toward the bed, he leaned forward and gently patted the still-moving mound. To be sure, and to offer her as much comfort as possible, Nikita began to pet the lump, as if the covers were not there at all.

-once you touched her the whimpering quieted to a soft sniff sound from the animal. It seemed to still and breathing slowly calmed the more you pet at it. After about ten or so minutes she had comes enough to poof back to normal. Though she still was covered by the blankets.

It took her a minute to acknowledge where she was and she slowly pulled the blanket from over her head but leaving it over her body. Her eyes where bloodshot from crying before she changed. She looked more fragile now then even when she first woke up in your cage. - s-sorry ..didnt mean to bother what you where doing

"No bother at all," he reassured her. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay. And I'm sorry you weren't able to have a peaceful sleep. Do you think you might be able to fall asleep again?" he asked her. "You've only been asleep for a couple of hours, after all. It's clear to me you look like you could use more rest."

Nikita accepted her hug with a smile on his face. He was well aware of the blankets and what they covered, mindful to not disturb them in any way. “You’re welcome, Nelia. I came up to check on you once I had heard the whimpering,” he said. “It did not sound like human whimpering, that’s for sure.”

Moving away from the bed, he then informed her, “Well, if you are unable to fall back asleep as you say, then I shall leave you with some privacy to get dressed. I shall be downstairs whenever you’re ready.” Nikita turned and left the bedroom, closing the door behind him.

Even with the sizzling bacon in the frying pan, Nikita, with the aid of his semi-wolf hearing, could hear footsteps descending the stairs. He smiled, as he could also tell in what form she was in at the moment. He did, however, understand that that could change within the blink of an eye. The cadence of her steps revealed to him that she was still in her human form.

And then he heard her call out for him. “I’m in the kitchen, Nelia, making us some lunch,” he replied. The wolf was somewhat bothered that the bacon was taking so long to cook. Well, he surmised, maybe you shouldn’t have sliced them so thick. Nikita smirked at his thought, hoping that Nelia was as hungry as he was. The Full Moon was near.

-she follows the scent of the fresh meat into the kitchen . when you called me i grinned and continued in. walking over i look over your shoulder and grins when i see the bacon. then i skip over to the table and sit staring at you nearly as impatient as your wolf.- im very hungry so i appreciate the offer of food.. i love bacon its so hard for me to make food so normally i have to hunt in a shift. so eating tends to be very random for me

-i tilting her head to the side. she watches what you do as you cook trying to keep herself from changing.- did you teach yourself cook or did your family teach you when you where growing you. -she was getting fairly curious so she plays with the chairs frame to keep herself from changing.-

Entering the kitchen, Nikita was pleased to see Nelia peer over his shoulder. He grinned at her as she skipped over to the table. As he overturned the bacon, he moved to the nearby counter to rinse the lettuce and slice some tomatoes. The bread was already slathered with Mayonnaise; it was just waiting for the rest of the ingredients to complete the sandwiches.

“Good,” he said. “I’m glad to hear you’re hungry. And I understand how difficult it must have been to fend for yourself in the woods. Shifting makes the most sense, as it is easier to hunt for fresh game. Plus, your animal’s digestive system can handle the raw meat a lot better than your human-self ever could,” he stated.

Bacon now nice and crisp, it soon joined the lettuce and tomato on the bread. Nikita then cut both their sandwiches in half. The cut was always diagonal, never horizontal. There was no real reason for this; he just liked eating half-a-sandwich that resembled a triangle. “And anyway, who does not like bacon?” he asked. “Here you go, Nelia, one piping hot BLT for your eating pleasure,” he said as he placed the plate in front of her.

Seating himself opposite her at the table, he began to answer her question. “My mother was my main teacher as far as cooking goes. She had a genuine love of food, but even more so, she loved creating meals for her family. Besides, living alone as I do, it usually comes down to this: Nikita does not cook, Nikita does not eat.” Smiling at her, he took a bite of his sandwich, truly enjoying that magical taste of bacon.

    - I nod as I begin to eat my sandwich praticly moaning with satisfaction at the amazing taste of bacon. And she shivers as she eats more of the sandwich. - god it's been so long since I have had cooked meat it's so good. -she purred and took another bite of my sandwitch.-

Why did you say part of that in 3rd person. -she giggles looking at you as she happily devours her food. Making several sounds of appreciation. Clearly meant for compliments of the chef. -

Nikita could not be sure as to what he was enjoying more, his delicious BLT or hearing Nelia’s pleasurable sound effects of consuming her own sandwich. “I am glad you are liking your BLT, Nelia. Your, um, moans give you away,” he said while smiling at her. “But that’s good, as I will take that as a compliment to the chef.”

Before continuing, a mild sense of sadness fell over the wolf. He was sad because at best, there were perhaps three bites left of his tasty lunch. Gathering himself, he informed her, “In fact, if you were to eat ramen in a traditional Japanese restaurant, the more slurping sounds you made while eating those noodles, the better. The chefs would beam with pride. If, however, you were to choose the silent route in slurping, that could look like an insult. And you definitely do not want that to happen.”

Shrugging, he answered her question with a smirk, "No reason, really. I just thought it would sound funnier if I said Nikita instead of I."

Smiling broadly, Nikita said, “That is good,” as Nelia assured him she would not be quiet with how she ate her ramen, were she ever to be in a traditional Japanese restaurant. “In fact,” he continued, while she gathered their now empty plates to take to the sink. “In certain cultures, and I do not recall which ones specifically, if you were to emphatically burp or belch after a meal, that would also be looked upon as complimentary.”

Joining her at the sink, he stated with a playful expression, “One of the problems of our society these days is that we are too prim and proper. I mean, if you or I were to burp out loud in an eatery here, we would be looked at as both rude and churlish, if not something altogether worse.”

Nikita was a little surprised at her request to learn about cooking, but he answered her nevertheless. “Of course. I would be happy to,” he casually stated. “Though I must admit my knowledge is somewhat limited. I wish you could have learned from my mother. She was the real master, especially when it came to spices.”

i think i agree. it seems odd to be so sensitive towards natural bodily instincts. if humans maintained the mutual understanding of nature. there would likely be alot less conflict among our world. -i chuckle slightly as i start your sink water to a good temperature for cleaning the dishes.-

-i look around the kitchen a minute making sure i have everything. before i start to wash the dishes up carefully. trying not to drop them as i scrub the plates clean then rinse them off and looking at you.- i would have loved to meet your mother if you are anything like her. - giggle softly as i look at you-

i think ill enjoy learning from you anyways. even if its not alot. maybe in trade i can show you how to widdle the way i do that way its a fair trade of skills. -i turn off the water and look at you smilling big - i want to find control of my shifting somewhere.

It surprised Nikita a little to hear such words of wisdom regarding nature and conflict from one so young. Even more impressive, he thought, was that this insight came from someone who was not worldly at all. Nelia had, as far as he knew, spent most of her young life in the forest. What she had just said was as profound as anyone twice her age could ever come up with.

He quietly watched as she washed the dishes from their lunch. Where did she learn how to do that? he wondered, as he could not recall showing her. Nikita chose to leave it alone as she seemed to know what she was doing. Besides, he was not about to quash any good intentions of hers to help.

“Well, if you like and think you are up for it,” he stated, “we could go to the farmers market. I need to get more produce for soups, stews and whatnot, plus some other ingredients.” Watching her as she mulled over his offer, he laughed at her mention of whittling. “Well, you can sure try to show me how to whittle. No promises I will be able to learn, though. I would be happy if I could whittle a cube.” Nikita was still laughing.
